On Tuesday October 27 the Petersburg City Council will be voting on a matter of grave concern to the residents and visitors to the city. City Council is poised to overturn a decision by the Planning Commission who unanimously denied a request by Thomas A. Wilkinson III, representing the Franklin Development Group, LLC, to have the historic building located at the corner of Hinton and Market Streets rezoned from M-1 (light industrial) to R-5 (multiple dwelling district). This project is poorly planned and will be a detriment to the adjoining neighborhoods. Support is needed to make certain that City Council hears our voice and denies this project. Please join in this discussion, write your City Council Member, sign a petition against the rezoning, and show up at the Council Meeting to voice your concern.
Contact your representative at the City, or sign the petition.
